Service Description

This 8-session online consultation group is for practitioners who dedicate a large proportion of their practice to children, adolescents, and/or adults with OCD. Consultation modalities include ERP and ACT, with attention to the use of the DNA-V model and clinical behavior analysis. The goal of this group is to strengthen practitioner case conceptualization and skills with complex OCD, comorbidities, and treatment-refractory cases. Presenter: Dr. Lisa W. Coyne, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist with 20 years of experience working with young people with anxiety and OCD. She is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, is the Executive Director of NECOA Boston, a member of the Clinical and Scientific Advisory Board, and is on the Faculty of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). She has written many articles, chapters, and books on ACT with children, adolescents, and parents. Course Dates: Fridays, 1-2PM 9/9, 9/23, 10/7, 10/21, 11/4, 11/18, 12/2, 12/16 Educational Objectives: After this consultation series, clinicians will be able to 1. Conceptualize complex OCD cases using a contextual behavioral framework 2. Discuss adaptations to ERP, ACT, or the DNA-V model to address comorbid conditions 3. Describe and address obstacles to engagement in treatment 4. Improvise ERP exercises across a broad range of OCD presentations 5. Address cognitive rituals and rumination 6. Facilitate willingness, flexibility, and valued action in clients 7. Help clients discriminate between rule-governed thinking and trial-and-error learning 8. Set clear behavioral targets to measure treatment progress 9. Work with family members of OCD and anxiety sufferers to support treatment gains Intended Audience: Intermediate and Advanced-level clinicians Cost: $400; There is an extra $15 fee for CEs. Scholarships or reduced fees are available for practitioners who belong to or serve marginalized communities.
